AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE AUTHORIZING ARREST AND CITATION FOR VIOLATIONS OF STATUTE OR COUNTY ORDINANCE

                                                            

 

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside, State of California, do ordain as follows:

 

Section 1(a).  Certain classifications of officers and employees of the County of Riverside, as designated by resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors, are hereby authorized, pursuant to Section 836.5 of the Penal Code, to arrest any person without a warrant whenever he has reasonable cause to believe that the person to be arrested has committed a misdemeanor or an infraction in his presence which is a violation of a statute or an ordinance of the County of Riverside, heretofore or hereafter enacted, and to issue a notice to appear and to release such person on his written promise to appear in court, pursuant to Section 853.6 of the Penal Code; provided, however, that such employees have successfully completed a special enforcement training program administered by the Sheriff of the County of Riverside.

 

Section 2.  Ordinance Nos. 429 and 429.1 are hereby repealed.
