AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE ACCEPTING

THE PENAL CODE REQUIREMENT RELATING TO THE SELECTION

AND TRAINING STANDARDS OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS


The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside, State of California, Ordains as follows:

 

Section 1. The County of Riverside declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the State of California under the provisions of Section 13522, Chapter 1, of Title 4, Part 4, of the California Penal Code.

 

Section 2. Pursuant to Section 13510(c), Chapter 1, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department will adhere to standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).

 

Section 3. Pursuant to Section 13512, Chapter 1, the Commission and its representatives may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the Commission to ascertain that the Riverside County Sheriff's Department public safety dispatcher personnel adhere to standard for selection and training established by the Commission on Peace Officer standards and Training.

 

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its adoption.
