STATEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

Presentation of Employee Service Awards

 

Supervisor Benoit shared photos of the Palm Springs City Hall grand opening for wedding and marriage license services.  He also stated the Date Festival was a success with over 294,000 attendees.  The first pet adoption day at the fair was a resounding success and 197 dogs were adopted in 10 days.  Lastly, recognition was given to Mr. Joseph Beaver, a Retired U.S. Marine, who was presented the Congressional Medal of Honor.

 

Supervisor Ashley spoke about the Perris Valley Line groundbreaking ceremony.

 

Supervisor Stone attended the Perris Valley Line groundbreaking and is looking forward to its opening; He also spoke about his visit to the Norco Naval Weapons Station and the importance of keeping it operational.

 

Jay Orr mentioned kicking off the budget season; he also met with the Community Foundation and thanked them for reaching out to the County; and he spoke about a meeting between Probation, Mental Health and the Sheriff’s Department on public safety regarding AB109 and attended the Norco Weapons station meeting on high-tech transfer and development of a high-tech park, and is looking to EDA to help facilitate.

 

Supervisor Tavaglione said they are making progress at the State level and legislation is moving forward on the 4 cities issue, but there is nothing further to report at this time.
